Flat cardboard box, labeled $500.00 Half Dollars, 50 Rolls- printed in yellow on the box.
Every roll was labeled NF String & Son, Inc. Harrisburg Pa - yellow and white wrappers.
I got the box at my local bank- she ordered them for me last week.
I guess the banks send their loose change etc to them (NF String) and they re-wrap everything and re-ship back out to the banks?
Hope this helps you.

What Federal reserve branch do your banks use? Because Chicago seems to be running low on silver these days.

I'm going to be ordering another box tomorrow, and I'll ask her where they are coming from and let you know.

I searched a box of halves from one bank and found two silver clads: 1 1967, 1 1968. The teller forgot to order my usual weekly 2 boxes from the other bank I go to. No problem though because now I have 2 boxes coming from two different banks next week. Hopefully, I'll see a few more silver coins in the upcoming rolls!

In my travels today I only had time to stop at the bank that I got 6 rolls filled with 40% about a month ago and they only had $3.50 in halves for me and one was a 68 OH WELL better then nothing.

Hey everyone. I have not found any S-proofs yet. Are they 40% or 90% and do the edges look silver like the other silver coins?
Has anyone had any luck trading their 40% coins for 90% coins without taking too much of a loss? I would prefer to keep only 90% coins.
The 2 boxes I ordered 2 weeks ago were not delivered to the bank, but I got 2 more yesterday. The results were: 11-Liberty's 12-Franklin's 6-90% Kennedy's 42-40% Kennedy's
Got 2 more boxes coming next week.

Almost all of the proofs found are clad (copper nickel) proofs. Their edges usually appear wider than circulation coins and more squared off. I have only found one 90% silver proof (199? don't remember) and it appeared solid white.

Went to the bank today- unfortunately the teller was off and the other teller's have no idea whatsoever where the coins come from, so I'll have to wait till Monday.

Ok- they are from the Federal Reserve, out of New York according to my favorite ordering teller!
She just ordered another box for me today- will be in Thursday.
She also told me she had a few other orders for half's and would add me on to the list!
Crazy to think I was the only one doing this- DUH! (LOL)

I went through my first box of halves last week. Not too much to mention besides:
5 - Kennedy 40% 1 - 1974 D double die
I can't complain too much though. That is five more silvers than I started with and my own double die. I've been helping a friend with his boxes over the last few months and netted much more impressive results. Off to a little better start than him initially but still have a long way to go to catch up. I'll be picking up my second box on Wednesday. Wish me luck.
