This is the second week of 2 boxes from my CU. No silver but 7 NIFC and 2 clad proofs. I included the Walker I got from the coin counter bag.

Nice finds pungod!

Murry-the tellers know I like halves so they told me they had some in the tray next to the window I was at, and I heard the unmistakable ring of silver as she put them down in front of me... seven 40%ers

This is my first post.... Here goes..

I went to my local bank the other day for some cents and nickels to look through and I asked if they had any halfs. The teller had $6.50 loose that she gave me. When I got home, I took a closer look and saw eight NIFCs!

2001-D
2002-D
2003-P&D
2004-D
2006-P
2007-P&D
2009-P&D

As well as BU:
1998-P
1999-P

No silver, but great for 6.50, and would any of these carry premiums? Thanks.

Wrestling...Congrats Sir...Your persistence has finally paid off. I'm curious of one thing. Was this the same bank you've been using since you began?

Speaking of broken streaks, I finally broke my dry spell. Found one lonely 40%er in my last box. I was $7000 in on a dry spell. I'm the kind of pessimists so I'll tell you the discouraging part of the find. I didn't look like silver from the edge. I fear that I continue to get someones dumped coins. Maybe they are just edge searching. I did find a fairly beat up proof too.

Did my weekly box which yielded only a single NIFC.

This box was a solid dump though. One of the worst I have encountered as far as marked coins go. I would estimate that about 50-60% of the box was marked with a black marker on the rim, and another 10% or so had dates on poor Ken's face. Even the NIFC I pulled was marked.

Yes Owassokie, it is the same bank. I marked entire boxes of coins back at $10,000 and $15,000 mark and haven't seen any of them back, so I know I'm not recycling my own, but I am finding other people's coins PLENTY marked up. So I know my chances aren't great.

Okay everyone, so I've been through about $5000 in halves, no silver. It's getting pretty boring...so I thought I would ask for some advice. Besides silver, what should I be looking for? And how do I distinguish them from the masses? Thanks in advance to anyone who posts or PMs to help me out.
