scored a bonus box this week, hitting random banks, box 16 was a skunk. they offered to order me my own boxes,dont even have an account there, I said Ill take one for next week, so Iv got my usual 2 tuesday, and one thursday. Adding a new bank or 2 soon, trying to up to 6 boxes a week.

Also scored 100$ in one bank from cwr dumps, seen the marks on the wrappers before, the next bank scored someone elses 320 in dumps, immediately dumped them back myself at one of my dumps, after checking in the car real quick. Did land 2 eisenhowers, also a second bank that has counters is gonna let me know about ordering boxes. So I'm expanding my weekly searches soon, gonna open a few new accounts. the monster boxI hit last week, has me hooked even more.

It depends what you are looking to get. If you are looking to make money, my suggestion is to stop coin hunting and get a part-time job (just kidding). There are a lot of "key dates" people search for. These are dates and mint marks where the mintage was low. I am not sure what they are. Also there is the NIFC (Not Intended For Circulation) which are dated 2002 to current. The U.S. Mint has not made half dollars specifically for circulation since 2001. Any half dollars you find 2002 to current were either from a set or purchased directly from the U.S. Mint. There is some thinking they may be worth money in the future. They go for ABOUT a dollar currently. Like I said, it depends what you are looking for out of coin collecting. Also there are clad and silver Proofs. Proofs are distinguished by their "S" mint mark and they generally have a mirror field behind the frosted main sculpture on the obverse. They are currently worth $2-$5 depending on the grade of the coin. There are also silver proofs from sets which speak for themselves. Hope this helped.

No, I have not found a Seated Liberty or earlier in circulation before. I think the earliest I have pulled from circulation was a 1963.

Seelinger, Here's a list 2002 and newer, All S mints, 1987, and I'll throw in the 1974 D DDO as a great starter coin for errors.

Details: 2002 and newer was explained above. "S" mints are proofs and you will notice them by their mirror like flat surface and frosted raised surface. You'll know it when you see one. 1987 was an extremely low mint year. They are definite keepers and carry a premium. The 1974 D DDO is the most common Double Die. The doubling is most common in the 'RUS' of 'TRUST' on the obverse. If you have good eyes, you'll notice the doubling on the right leg of the 'R' without a loupe. If you have bad eyes, just pull a bunch of 1974D's and look at them though a loupe. I'll bet you find one within 3 boxes, if you're looking hard. Google it for more information and to see pictures.

My best advice is to move locations if you continue to get blanked on Silver. I will say that after finding a monster box, I went on a streak of almost $7000 finding NO silver so extended streaks happen. If you get a couple more boxes with no silver, and not having found silver in the past, I'd move on.
