Dixonm7 - What you have found, for what you have searched, is not that bad in reality.

Angel2004 - I think most people mark coins they have already searched to see if they receive them again at a later date. It is a way to help determine if you are getting unsearched coins or simply receiving those you may have already searched.

Some may simply mark them as a form of graffiti like what was more common on dollar bills in earlier years.

M0nk,

As soon as I opened the box, I knew it was crap. Was very surprised. Waited 2 weeks for this box, and that's the first time I've gotten that many rolls marked the exact same way.

But, I did get some great coins in the last few rolls, so that tells me it's random what goes in boxes. Plus if the first box from this bank several weeks ago had like 9 silvers and this had none, that further proves to me that I'm getting random samples, which is good. I'll take skunk boxes as long as the good ones come too.

M0nk and Berniez,

Sorry about the marked coins there.

I also hate seeing the marked coins, but I also tend to find a few good coins within the same boxes I find the marked coins. Thus, I also know I am getting random coins and I can live with that.

Thanks, M0nk!

I bought it on an impulse, what would it be worth?

Thanks again, - hh64

Thanks Kenscott. Kind of thought it was something like that. Just defaces a coin someone else may want and that is too bad.

So I have been rolling through 2-3 cities on my way to work stopping at banks as I can. I seem to have the market cornered on NIFC. I am one of those guys who keep them because I do not plan to do anything with my coins for 30 years, and that is to give them to my son who will hopefully give them to his son/daughter. Is this a pipe dream I am having or are these things going to be worth money in a few decades?

Do you have good luck with tellers? Even in a branch of my bank I don't frequent I had them act like I was asking for something crazy when making a deposit!

I got almost 3k that are complete skunks in this latest batch. It must coins that got shipped in. None of the boxes had any marks on them. O well better luck next week I suppose.

$100 in machine rolls yielded me a 1967 in the last roll I opened, and one of the rolls had an extra quarter. It wasn't silver, it was a Virginia State Quarter. But still, I made a 25 cent profit, plus a profit on that 40% Kennedy. That calls for a

Is it just me, or has anyone noticed the reverses of Kennedys seem very durable? When I go through rolls I keep an eye out for BU coins among other things. Seems there are a lot of uncirculated-looking reverses, and when I turn it over the obverse is beat to heck.

Nobody should ever do 50k in a week. Even 3k in a week is way too much in my opinion. If you are consistently doing 3k a week, I'd be surprised if your bank still let you order coins from them (without a charge/fee) a year from now.
