I was skeptical of JFK hunting til today. Went to the bank today cause I'm on a penny binge, and I asked about JKF's. The teller said she had 100 worth in it, so I took it. Was about half way through and found a 1964 D. I'm hooked now. Went back to the bank and ordered 1000 worth in JfK's. Will update more later.

4 more boxes from WF nothing nada. It has been a long time since I have found a silver halves it seems to have dried up here in my area. I have 4 more boxes coming from a different bank (Chase) hopefully my luck will changed. I have not gotten any boxes from them for 2 months.

I have $1000 for half dollar searching. This has been rewarding but problematic. I have a good stash started but I have to dump into coin counters which always seem to be shorting me and dump cash into my gas tank. Here is something to ponder: While my $1000 can purchase silver coins at face value from a diminishing supply, it can also turn into $19000 at 10% interest in 30 years. Which should I leave for my son?

BRINKS boxes have not been skunks for me.
The first four boxes where full of yellow-and-white wrapped halves which I believe are Loomis.
The last four have been in a light grey-and-white type wrapper which I have not saw posted on here yet. They do not match any clear descriptions I have found here, but the last two have produced fairly well.
Oh, here are my results from boxes 7-8 (both Brinks).
1964 (1) 1967 (2) 1968D (1) 1972D (1) NO FG -- First error mint coin and in nice condition. 2002D (1) BU 2008 (1) AU 2011D (1) BU

Pungod Where can you get 10% interest I wanna know. $19,000 in 30 years probably won't buy what $1,000 WILL BUY TODAY.

Pungod - you could use that $1000 to buy silver at face value, and then take the $999.50 or $999.00 that's left in clad, reroll it (which only takes about 10-15 minutes per box if you get good at it), redeposit it at a dump bank, and invest that. And then you could leave BOTH to your son.

bdw9714: Neither of the two banks I have an account at take rolled coins especially in large quanity. The both direct customers to the coin counter. I have thought about buying some silver eagles with the silver I have now. Don't get me wrong, I will continue to search because it is a fun hobby leading to silver. I just thought I would share what I had discovered.
by the way, the stock market averages 10-11% if looked at over a 30 year period.
