Wuffy, ask your teller if they can order you a box. Otherwise you may have to try asking another bank.

So, has anyone had luck asking a bank to order halves for you with which you do not have an account?
If so, how did you do the approach? I am asking seeing how my former favorite bank no longer wishes to order them (though I dumped elsewhere).

1 box of half dollars: 5 NIFC's 2 had been punched with the initials "RC" I imagine that makes them only worth face value?

Ken Scott, just walk in and ask for a box, may have to hit a few branches, but you will luck out eventually. Dont know about no account though. I just got back from adding 4 more boxes at a different branch, then my friday 4 boxes, no questions asked, she just said oh perfect timing, getting ready to order , didnt even ask for my account, did ask how I would fund it, just told here, cash exchange, she is gonna call me, so I'm hoping for a weds/thurs pick up.
Hey just have an extra 100$ on you, and if they ask for account, just say "no" but been wanting to set one up here, then tell them you would like to order boxes each week, and then go open a new account, and close yours at the other branch, simple.

Nice job on the Walker! I never found any at banks until just a few weeks ago. People seem to still be dumping old coins. I was hunting for halves today, and a lady brought in several hundred worth of rolled small dollars. At another bank, one man was bringing in bank bags of rolled pennies! I ended up with a couple 40% halves...
