Got two boxes yesterday and found 3 67s and a really pretty 1994 silver proof! Surprisingly good condition for being circulated.

First congrats to all on your nice finds. 2 more boxes today found 1, 90% a 1964. 2 more boxes coming Monday and 6 more Wednesday. Went to WF bank today to get 2 boxes of nickles ask teller if she had any halves she had 2 one was a 2005S clad proof in pristine condition looked like someone just pulled it out of a proof set. I have found well over a hundred proofs but have yet to find a silver one.

jwguts, that was definitely a strange mix of coins. Nice finds everyone. Quote: Some of these last coins were so dirty, I could see someone missing the silver ones if they were just edge searching. Some actually looked like a dirty clad. Two different edge colors. Here is the photo from 1-2-13. Results for the first of 2 boxes tonight. Skunk for silver. 1 2002-D 1 2003-D 1 2003-P 1 2007-P $166 of 2001's. One of them copper plated. 1 1999-S Impaired Proof And this, I think it may be a penny that has been run over by a train? This is how Box #2 started. I'll post the details later.

Oh man, Fade To Black, that is an amazing box. My best ever was 38 silver coins.
As for the painted coins, I've already tossed all but five back in the coin cointing machine. That stuff peels off so easily, and the coins look like crap. The Derek Jeter one looked good, so I kept that for myself. I gave four away.
Funny, too, I didn't get a single Obama coin. I've seen many of those in the past year.

Dirty silver looking like clad... that's come up a few times here. I'm mostly an edge surfer myself, but those "dirty" ones always get me to slow down and examine more carefully. I was just thinking about that yesterday. I don't think I've ever missed a silver coin, but ya never know.

Got 2 40% silvers at work today. A server was super ticked that someone gave him two half dollars. I asked if I could see them and they turned out to be silver. I offered him $5 for the pair and he was really happy with it.

Just joined the forum. 1st box I ever searched had two $40 dollar rolls in it. 12 x 64's in one roll and the other big roll had all 40%s! All 65' through 69'. In the teller's drawer were 7 halves. One of which was a Frankie! The next week a different teller gave me a hand full of proofs! You guys get some credit here. I could not continue to read about all the fun y'all were having and not jump in. BTY, after the 1st box with the 2 rolls of silver finds, my wife and I did a tally sheet and she says, " Wow! Got any more ideas?!?!?"

Results for Box #2: 1 1952-D 1 1953-S 2 1966 1 1967 4 1969-D 1 1981-S Impaired Proof 1 2005-D 1 2007-P 1 2009-P I really thought this box was going to be a skunk for silver after I finished Box #1. I think I'll try to up my order to 4 boxes next week. Good luck to everyone this weekend. Unless I can find any halves tomorrow, I'll be searching nickels this weekend.

My bank's original vault teller came back from a 3 month training deal, and is attempting to talk the main manager into ordering my boxes again. She is very nice and was doing my 8 box/week orders for a year. Hopefully she can fix it for me. went to my old bank for halves and got $150 CWR. same person dumps them every couple weeks. Good thing I stopped. my first finds for the New Year. BU white 90%'s.

Nice finds to all, especially Fade to Black!
Went through 6 boxes and found 29 40%, 1 1964 and 1 1961 Franklin. I was impressed that every box had some silver in it and 3 of the boxes had 40% enders. No skunks this week!

The follow up boxes after the dream box produced fantastically as well, 16 boxes yesterday gave up 2 proofs, a nice lowball '84-D (Sadly, was on the end of a roll and has roller damage... probably takes it from a $60-$70 coin to a $25 coin), 70 40%ers, and 20 90%ers... 3 Walkers, 4 bens, including a '57 Proof, 12 '64's, and my first modern silver proof, a 2010-S. Best week ever for my finds from boxes. 34 boxes, 34 90%, 206 40%. Yesterdays stuff; PS. Y'all should really learn to sound check your halves, I bet I almost never miss 40%ers because I hear them if I don't see them.
