OO, my bank has a coin counting machine. My only complaint is that on occasion it takes sometime for the tellers to change the bags for me. At most I'm in the bank about 30 minutes. Not really a big deal in the over all scheme of things.

I hear you Murphy. I have a similar set up. I feel guilty when I fill the half dollar bag, then fill it again, especially when they are busy. They seem pretty irritated. What part of the country do you live in?

I edge searched a few halves at lunch today. I found a 68 and a 62. First Franklin in a long time. Come to think of it, its the first 90%er in a BofA box, in a long time. I'll finish those two boxes tonight. I have a bag of $500 on Thursday and a bag of $1k on Friday. $2.5k is more than my usual week. Hope I hit some good stuff.

I've been gone for a (crazy!) couple of months, but now I'm hunting again. I worked long hours during the holidays, we had another baby, I had car trouble, and we were low on funds.

I drove to some small town banks yesterday with no luck. I was running errands today when I remembered a supermarket that used to sell me halves. They had quite a few today.

$47 in halves:

2 '64

7 90% (1 '69S impaired proof)

I also found 2 carwash tokens and an 1840 LARGE CENT!

This is my oldest find by far.

I walked into one of my banks today making my rounds begging for coins and the gal asks "what's your name?" I said Jeff, she says "well you're looking for silver right?" I said well silver is always a good thing but I have been searching for more that just silver, she says "well Jeff I just got a silver half dollar do you want it?" HECK YES! so she said she will watch for more silver for me, really, so I have someone on the inside now. 1964 hehehe love it

Wow CPC. I'll be the first to say it: WE WANT PIC'S!!

I finished my boxes tonight. I had something happen that is a first for me, and that doesn't happen much anymore. I had 2000 series NIFC's, a 1987, 1974d DDO, Very Nice Proofs, silver Kennedy, Franklin, and Walking Liberty, all in one box. By far the most diverse box I've ever opened. I think someone's kid dumped his granddad's coin collection.

3 x 2005
1987
1977S
1980S
1988S
4 x 40%ers
1962
1945

The other box only had proofs, but they are the nicest proofs I've ever seen.

Bicentennial Proof
1977S
1978S

I just realized these proofs are 3 years back to back.

Here she is:

It was with a couple of brass carwash tokens, and it took me a second to see "ONE CENT". Once I did, I was ecstatic.

ONe 1968 and a counter stamp that someone also chrome plated. Thought it was silver at first but just way too polished.

News to me! my bank I ordered boxes through are now charging $5/box; now my dump bank is charging $5/box because they say it costs them to return coins through Lommis(sp?) or who ever they use.

I went back to school at 35 and got a BA, went back again and got a Master's at 49. Went back again and got a Phd at 65.
