What did the coin counter say when you cashed them out.

I have tried a few times to count out my dumps and the machines were almost dead on (could have been my mistake counting) and one time I replaced all coins I took out and replaced and added 4 pennies to the 6 boxes $3K they came back and told me $2996. I made scene and was more upset the shorted me the 4 cents than the $4 which I may have been shorted by the original boxes. They said they would balance the machine the next day but never heard back.

The other time I had to make a scene was when I hauled in an unknown amount should have been around $1450 and they told me it was $1150. I told them no way and while they checked the bags to make sure the halves weren't going into the wrong bag and counted for the wrong denomination and then 2 days later $375 magically appeared in my account (the amount of 1 of the 4 bags I brought in go figure)

The coin counter at the bank I turn change in does not count half dollars. I counts everything up to half dollars.

That is okay. At least when I turn in the halves I get full credit. I just uncrimp the ends of the rolls and then replace the halves when I am done. May not be as quick, but it doesn't take that long once you get the hang of it.

My bank gave me 3 full boxes of half wrappers. I re-roll some and dump some at coin counter at other bank. The gift of wrappers was nice

Yes, I made the same mistake a lot of new beginners tend to make. I busted those suckers open and went diving for SILVER! Then, I had to re-roll my first four boxes in traditional wrappers.

I thought there had to be a better way. Then, I think I read a post here were someone noted it was much easier to use the sturdy rolls they halves came in. A box later and I was almost a pro. :)

By the way, I put in an order for Wednesday for two boxes. I haven't searched in about three weeks due to a myriad of circumstances. Hopefully will be able to do so this week. Still have a ton of things to list on E-Bay.

I went to one of my dump banks on Friday to deposit $1500 in halves. The convenient parking area was full so I ended up parking at a business next door. As I entered the bank one of the tellers says "You have half dollars don't you". Me, "Yep". Teller says "I'm sorry but we have a new machine and it doesn't accept halves". Needless to say, I was disappointed. By the time I lugged the two bags back to the car I was cussing.

I'm curious if anyone else has run in to this problem recently? This is a large regional bank and I'm surprised that a commercial coin counter won't take half dollars. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

As a side note, I purchased pizza for this branch one week earlier. The manager and tellers were friendly and told me I was welcome to bring halves any time. I sent an email today asking if there were any other options (like bringing $1k in a coin-lok bag or rolling the coin myself). Her reply started out by saying they didn't know the new coin counter would not accept half dollars. Of course, she followed that up with the typical bank speak...'management won't allow xxxx or xxxxx but you are welcome to use any of our other branches'.
