Libertad Pillar of the Community Canada 3692 Posts	Posted 04/17/2015 8:55 pm Those fakes are terrible and easy to spot. I've seen at least three. The new security details are nothing more than laser engraving, which on a worn coin means nothing. If they made coins holographic like the polymer bills they would have more success, but it's an expensive process. If I were head of the mint I would have all 5 and 10 cent coins made of silver and the rest out of nickel again. They really aren't trying by making them out of steel and plating - it's lazy and cheap, just like criminals. Report this Post to the Staff

Look at UK their 1 Pound coin has so many different types of fakes. Fakes that are so good they work in vending machines. Report this Post to the Staff
