Is it safe to use acetone on chrome plated nickels. I'masking because I heard that the chrome plating isn't the strongest And comes off easily.

This is my take on it... I've used acetone on my chrome nickles.. and have never liked the results... won't do it again..

So what is the reason you dont like the results.
I checked on mine today to flip it looks like chrome. The bule is alot less noticable and its just alot more nicer looking. Although It makes the the worn chrome alot more noticable

With regret I never took before and after photos of doing a few chrome nickles..... but I guess the best way to say it is that the "dirt" that was on my nickles I think was hiding some other imperfections... so given the choice I preferred the "before" over the after.

Oh ok, thats understandable.
I'mlooking at my before pictures and the after looks like a different coin. I'mmost probably going to post before and after photos.
