Hi guys! I'm new to this forum, and was just curious to what this coin that I recently acquired would grade. I noticed many of the coins here are US currency, but it also says world coins and would like anyone's expertise :)? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello Yee002,
Welcome to the forum!
Yes, world coins are always welcome on the grading forum. Most members are more familiar with US coins but we all like to see new stuff.

I'm not familiar with Chinese coins, except for some nice steel replicas that someone picked up for me as a souvenir when they went to China. Your coin has the right color for a genuine silver coin, at least. Are you confident that it is a real one?

As far as wear is concerned, I see flat areas and discoloration over the high points on the dragon smoke. These areas appear to be slightly worn. The rims are strong and the denticles are fully defined. The dragon scales and the fine details on the Chinese characters are sharp. I'd guess this coin is AU (about uncirculated), possibly grading about AU50 on the standard 70-point scale. It's a good looking coin and I hope it is genuine!

I've never seen this coin...very nice! I find the two scripts on the reverse interesting, one being for Xinjiang province? One thing I notice over the dragon's head might be a slight rim dent.

Hello

I would agree with Amac on this one with the
addition of saying, that AU50 would be the max.
not being familiar with the original strike
properties of this type coin, I could not asess
an exact grade. if it was a normal type strike
then I would have to say XF, higher range.
if not, then the AU50 sticks.

MS 62. Thanks for the previous replies. Btw, any advice on how to scan a slabbed coin better? Mine comes out blurry.
