Coop said it all in the 2nd post. I always thought that in 2001 starting, errors were more monitored and stuff. That's why you never seen any offcenter, MAD, or Blank planchet etc's from post-2002 coins.

I've seen several, don't get me wrong. Those go for some decent money on ebay. Also die cracks I don't see often on post-2002 coins; but I did find a 2014 cent yesterday with a major die crack on the reverse going from 1 o'clock down to the top of the shield.
