I found this coin in my change I received from the bus driver just the other week. I've noticed the few selling on ebay and was comparing mine to these when I thought; how much can they really be worth? and, would the detail of the defect make a difference in value when a comparison is made? Instead of "ELIZABETH II" it reads "ELIZAB"

Value really depends on how much someone else is willing to pay. I've seen them going for sale from 10 - 50 dollars. Again, timing is the key. If there is a hot competition between two buyers, they can drive the price up as much as they want.

This type of coin is notorious for greased die. This is a spectacular example that I have.
