For those familiar with modern MTT restrike, this coin is likely to be a Haf.39 specimen. However I find two features which are different from a H39 specimen. First, one of the segment of the crown appendage (red circled in the following picture) has 4 pearls on it, this is my first time to see this feature in my over 50 MTT restrikes. Second, the pearl arrangement on the central large crown is different with another H39 specimen. I am sure the reverse die is different.

There are two long die cracks on the reverse side. I would suppose the first reverse die was damaged for some reasons so another reverse die was produced, this made another variety of the H39 restrike.

Austrokiwi, would you confirm this is a variety of H39?

Looks like H39 to me...and just to confuse everyone: although Hafner claims this is a Milan strike of around 1828, an 1812 file ( includes silver foil rubbings of the coin) in the Austrian state archives identifies it as a Guenzburg strike of the 1790s.....My opinion goes with the Austrian state Archives

Thank you, Ian.

My further question: H36 is very similar to H39, is it possible also produced in Guenzburg?

I found 2 files in the austrian state archives that Make the current designations to Venice and Milan impossible H41 is venice and was the first type produced there in 1817. That means H5, H37, 38, and 40 can not be from Venice. They are as the 1812 file reported Guenzburg. All current Milan attributions by Hafner are incorrect as they also 1890s Guenzburg( except H43). This also means that the the dating range for the early Gunzburg restrikes is incorrect.
