So after reading up on some posts about these albums, I bought 3 of the Lincoln Cent ones to start organizing my coins in 3 different grades.

They just arrived. thicker than I thought they would be! 1909-2007 is a lot of pages. Noticed some flakes of paper strewn about from the manufacturing process, I guess i'll blow them off with some canned air before I get started. Would taking an alcohol wipe (the kind for glasses) hurt to clean off the plastic pages?

Do these albums actually open up flat with exception of the first and last page? I'd imagine its the users job to 'bend' them all flat but I don't wanna go nuts with one and realized I ruined it.

The album cover says "with proof only issues" but I don't see separate proof holes for the early dates (for instance they don't have two 1912 slots of proof and non-proof) but they do have all the S mint mark LMCs for the later dates since I guess they were only available in proofs?

Sorry never heard of those before. Sounds like regular Albums though. Can you show some photos of those? You said from 09 to 2007. Any room for additional pages? Can you get any additional pages? How much did they cost?

Those albums are new to me too. As just carl said, we'd love to see some pictures...that would help us better answer your questions.

I swear I must have read 4 post about these albums, read one that linked to another...then that linked to another with how coin wizard obtained these albums, but upon searching 'the coin collector album' nothing comes up. Hm...still trying to figure out how to properly "work" this style of forum.

What I read is that the coin collector was an album company in the recent past that made a ton of cheaper dansco type albums that never made it to retail sale. Coin wizard bought truckloads of them and have been selling many of them for $5 each on their website (except for the ones I wanted of course, which were $15 for lincoln cents, Indian cents, and a few more)

Hoping to help, not sure where to start.

I think the business your referring to is

Wizard coin supply.

And the albums are named coin collector.

I have not seen these albums, except for picture online.
To me they look like a cheaper version of Dansco albums.
But I could not comment on the quality of them, maybe
someone else has purchased them, and wil post.

As for the term "with proof only". That means for the years there
were only proof coins minted for a certain year will there be a
port/hole for that coin.

For example: In 1980 the San Francisco mint made a 1980 S proof
Lincoln Cent. They did not make a 1980 S mint business strike coin.
So there will be a port/hole for the proof coin.

In 1964 the Philadelphia mint made both a business strike coin
and a proof Lincoln Cent. There will be only one port/hole,
you can decide which one to fill that Port/hole with.

To sum it up, if a mint made both a proof and business strike in the
same year there will be only one port/hole.

If a mint made only a proof coin for a certain year, than the album
will have a port/hole for that proof coin.

Thanks people. Unfortunately I speak very loosely with smatterings of mis-ordered words.

THE coin collector, coin wizard/wizard coin

You catch my drift.

The only regrets I have so far are paying the premium for the lincoln folders and NOT buying all the $5 ones! Might have to place another order

I mystify myself regularly, re-reading what I've just written.

I sometimes wonder if Jbuck memorized every post ever made here. He always pops up with stuff made a long, long, long time ago. I have a hard time remembering what I said yesterday.

From my point-of-view, you made that reply yesterday.

The pages will fold in due time. New Dansco pages are similar, but after flipping back & forth filling the holes they begin to move easier.

I agree, new Dansco pages are rather stiff at first, but loosen up over time. I cannot imagine these being much different.
