Am I right in assuming that American $100 bills from mid-century (e.g. 1950 c/d/e, 1963, 1969), circulated, and not in especially good shape, have no value beyond the face value?

I figure they're not collectible, but I hate to spend them.

I bet you can get at least a 25% premium on ebay. After fees though is all of your time worth the $15 profit?

If you sell them on ebay you're taking an older bill that you don't want to spend, putting it in the collection of someone who will keep it and making $15 or $20. I would say do it for yourself and the hobby.

And I would add that you can try selling them at local coin shows or at a local coin club and avoid fees and shipping.

Interesting, thanks. I don't do ebay, so I guess that means I'm back to the problem on not being able to find the local coin club in New York City.
