I got this in change not too long ago just only today as I was looking through my quarters I noticed this on the front of my quarter that has to be one heck of a crack in the die to cause that feature on the bust side reverse side looks normal. And under the L in Liberty is what also looks like a crack too.

The mark under the L looks like a J. Is it a scratch ? I really don't have a clue but looking( I have the coin in hand right now) at the bust the metal inside the "crack" is the same color as the clad outside the coin. If that crack really is a scratch there shouldn't be any clad in there just the base metal showing this isn't a silver coin.

But if it's a dent, which is what it looks like to me, the cladding will be unaffected. All the same, I'm not ready to be certain based on these images.
Rest in Peace

The scratch isn't deep enough for you to see the copper core.

That 'j' shape under the L is curious. It doesn't seem the right shape for a die chip.

Is it incuse ? Better pictures would help. Close ups of spots when I zoom in its to grainy to see it resembles being struck through wire. But no one I doubt will tell you for sure based on those pictures

That's my current thinking.

A closeup of the area in question would tell us more.
It the area at the bottom the mark is rounded, it maybe a struck through wire.
If it is squared, then it would be a scratch.
Also seeing the ends would help.
If it trails, then its a scratch.
If it is definite it might be wire.

I can't get closer due to me not having a high end camera but hopefully these are a bit more clearer.

that's great my first error coin I probably have a couple other possible error coins I'll be posting. I'm guessing the wire strikes are pretty common right though was the J also a wire strike?

I don't think they are all that common.

I think the 'j' is an encased bit of wire.

(I am not sure though...)
