Hello Everyone, How are you doing? I was writing to check if anyone here would know the what the approximate value of this coin would be? It's a 1721 Thal Swiss-Bern Cantons Thaler Council of Sixteen. Sorry, but I only have a photo of the obverse. I was told this coin is worth Tens of thousands of dollars and may even reach $60,000 USD in an auction in Switzerland. I'm having a hard time finding anything online about this coin. I would really appreciate your help. Thanks.

Sorry to be the party pooper, but the information you have got is not only worthless, but also wrong.

This is a thaler-weight medal, a very nice one, issued annually by the council of 16.

Here is a similar (less attractive as issued in lower than a thaler weight) specimen sold on ebay for $86:

The price for yours might be higher, but do not expect any number with more than three digits, as it is simply not realistic.

The name for this type of thaler-like awards / medals is "Sechzehnerpfennig" (16 penny, referring to the council of 16)

Thank you for your response. I just found this NGC Link where I believe this is the same coin. They have no photos on that page, but they put the value at VF-20 $4,250. Could you please check it out to confirm if I'm incorrect or not?

What you have there is Geneva, here we have Bern, the same confederation, but a different canton.

$200 to $300 is a realistic price range for this example. Whoever told you that it's worth thousands is either trying to rip you off or doesn't know what they are talking about.

If someone is willing to pay that much for the coin, there could be a possibility that it's a variety that someone is desperate to buy. I think it's not that hard to make a decision to sell to someone that's willing to pay way over suggested market price.
