Below is my mini accumulation of Barber halves that I have accumulated over the past year. It is accidental that they're different dates/mints. But, now I'm sort of thinking it would be fun to try to get all these in a decent Good condition.

Any of you have any "accidental" collections of coins that all of a sudden revealed themselves to possibly becoming a set?

I also have a small accidental collection of barbers accumulated a few years ago when I could find a couple here and there in my dealers melt bag. Not the best condition, most are AG-G , but barbers start getting real pricey once you hit F/VF and above, so getting these for 3 or so dollars was a great deal to me. There are still a few time to time in the bag, but now they are usually harshly cleaned or damaged when they do show up.

Really? The 06D is a tougher date?! I had no idea, especially based on the mintage figures.

My accidental set is "Circulated Proof Half Dollars from 1964-present". As I searched halves for silver, I began to find more and more proofs. After going through about $19,000 in halves I've found 25 clad proofs, 1 silver proof (2002). I have 17 different dates.

It kind of makes searching for silver a little more fun.
