Looking through ebay,I found this & am curious if this is a mint error or PMD?

I have no intentions of getting this item or bid on any of his auctions, but maybe if someone likes it enough & it is a true error, you could get a great error coin.

Check out some of his other auction....a lot of great older U.S. dollar coins & a few other great coins too.

After shipping he is asking silver value for it. He made no claims that it wasn't anything other than a silver dollar.

Yeah, you can see where solder splashed onto the coin, and it's been carefully filed down. Many of this seller's coins are heavily polished, and he's averaging 5 Negs/Neutrals a month. With that said, at his volume I'm willing to believe most of them are people who just don't understand what they're looking at.

But you can obviously do a combined 60 Negs/Neutrals a year and still be a Top Rated Seller. Just have to sell a whole_lot of stuff.

Looks to me like it got hit with a blunt, heavy object. I have a '22-S with similar problems- the rim is damaged all around, and it looks like the victim of a severe fork attack as well.

PMD is post mint damage, meaning that something happend to the coin after it left the mint. It is not good, and not desirable. BTW, click on PMD and it will bring up the meaning ;)
