Need ID For France Banknote - Coin Community Forum

nalaberong Pillar of the Community Canada 2805 Posts	Posted 04/22/2015 10:20 pm My guess is that this is a locally issued post-WWI emergency note, only used in Paris (hence the Chambre de Commerce de Paris written on it). aiglet7 Pillar of the Community Canada 695 Posts	Posted 04/23/2015 1:09 pm 'Les Billets Des Chambres De Commerce" by Jean Pirot is a comprehensive study on notes issued between 1914 and 1925 by Chambers of Commerce in France. They were issued to address the shortage of metallic money. This is the 'go to' reference book for this type of note - but I suspect it is written only in the French language.
