Take a look at VAM 8a, you should see a lot of reverse die gouges on that coin. Nice find.

The die crack itself is only relevant as a diagnostic tool. Given the definition of a VAM, the overwhelming majority of VAMs can be assumed to exist both with and without die cracks, just like clashing. Both were very common in Morgans, and usually do not in and of themselves define a VAM.

I'm really surprised 8A isn't a List coin with those gouges. There should be an "Oops! List."

I'm a small and rather unpopular fish in the VAM world because I question the status quo. Of course, that led to me being the guy who actually *saw* and called attention to the first new B1 Reverse in 40 years - one that a few big fish then found, overlooked in their own collections because their minds were set - but I'm not an A Player there. I can't afford to pile up dozens or hundreds of Morgans like they can. Heck, I haven't bought a coin in 3 years. I live numismatics vicariously through CCF, nothing else.

Let someone with more rep do it.
