Good day all,

Read a thread earlier this afternoon also with a Charles 1st shilling, it had some detail mentioned.

Curious to get an idea of date, mint and potential value of this one.

Date: Between 15 Jul 1641-28 May 1643 Probably the later part of that from the collar design.
Mint: Tower (of London), which was the main official mint up to the Civil War.
Value: Mmm ... pretty worn. £10-£20 (180-360 ZAR?)

Oh and it's Spink #2799 "Group F, Briot's bust" or Sharp G1/2 for us Charles I shilling collectors!

.
