It must have been commissioned by them. They commission a lit of coins. Like 1 or 2 every release.
But I'll be passing on this one. Can't get into coloured coins and especially ones that are full colour. Seems cheap to me. How hard us it to just put a picture on a coin. Lol there is not one coin this year I have been real excited about
Coin might be popular, although again, price is high enough to be desired by all the collectors.
They've had to use oversize 35mm CuNi quarter for this, and to leave the 2oz silver for other designs.
Added: It available as pre-release at the "The Coin Shoppe" website. Very smart move to follow the CC&C. Good decision.....but customer have to login even to view the coin (same as CC&C)
Pictures printed on coins - no matter how attractive - are just not my interest. I've always appreciated the engraved art form and these types of coins bypass that completely (at least on the reverse).
I have very few colourized coins, and those I do have use the colour to enhance the engraving vs. replace it. Just my personal preference.

This coin isn't even like those with some struck details and some stamped colour. Seems to me that all of its surface is painted. I'd rather find a better picture and put it on my computer desktop, to be honest.
When I read the RCM description of coloured coins they always use the words "Selective colouring". Is it a sticker? Is it painted in sweat shops in disadvantaged countries? Is it spray painted on by super cool robots from the future? I think a lot of the coloured coins are stickers. If anyone knows for sure, I'd be grateful if you shared the information. cheers Liverpool
It seems like RCM is doing more of these coloured coins. Much cheaper to apply paint than to have to make dies. This one looks like the only detail on the reverse is the engraved initials .

after looking at the coin in your avatar, this one (the Glow in the dark) looks like just token / coin with the picture on it. And the picture also simple by its idea.
Now, speaking about perspective and dimensions: The fireflies looks like mutant insect, they so big, that probably scared the people, that were in the boat. No way that we can see in such sharp focus close fly and far objects all together.
But I hope, that real coin is better, than on the pictures. So it will spark interest of the collectors.
