Fake-Egypt-1941-10-Millimes

Found this in a lot of foreign coins. It is made of, I think, lead. The metal is pretty soft, the lettering is weak on the reverse and the obverse is almost indistinct. First time I've found something like this. Will keep it as an oddity.

I've seen fakes at wholesale gem and mineral shows that the folks from overseas bring with them. These are sold as souvenirs too.

It's probably made of lead. And back in 1941, 10 milliemes was probably worthwhile trying to fake for a local.

I too got myself a coin set from Egypt, however none of those coins looked particularily fake, nor were they "old", 60's at most. No silvers in that set, sadly.

Well, I actually broke open my set... the coins had mould spots on them and the acid in the plastic had affected some of the coins. The glue that held the whole set together was crumbling anyway, so techincally nothing was broken
