Very interesting date. I don't know. THe filled letters are very common die chips and don't add a premium. Wait for opinions on the date though.

That is a small date 1960-D cent with die chips in those devices. The breakdown of the small date dies, made the need for the large date cents that year. The mark on the inside loop on the "6" is a sure sign it is a small date.

Thank you for the info. I did look at some pics to try to determine the date type. They pretty much looked identical to me. Now it will be easier to determine. Is the same to be said for the "mark" in the loop of the nine?

The curl there is just a design issue. I checked a roll of these I had and it is some form on all of the examples I checked. Probably what caused this was the same thing that altered the "6" in the center. If it is on all small dates, then it was also on the master die.

That area might have been altered and all business strike cents look like yours or a stronger example where the inside loop looks square.

Remember a quick search is to check coppercoins for many examples of date images to compare with. Look for the 1960D-1MM-101 thorugh 135 images as they will show what was going on with the small dates.

The 1960-D SD is common but I'm surprised at what the BU rolls sell for. I purchased a bag of OBW rolls that were supposed to be LD and turned out to be SD. Paid around 75c a roll. I was upset as I wanted LD to find RPMs. The Sm/Lg and the better RPMs are in in LD rolls. Well I guess I did Ok anyway.
