A few days back I posted a "Block this bidder" thread here. I know what the scam was now.

The guy NPB's myself and 11 others this month. I guess 12 NPB's in a month isn't enough for ebay to act, because he's still a valid member.

Today I got a phishing email tailored to the auction: "Transfer Bank Deposit"

Hello:

Sorry for the delay in payment. Please find attached, the remittance advice for your reference.

Thank you kindly.

Import Co-ordinator

Needless to say, I trashed it without bothering with the Attachment - my days of playing with viruses are over - but it should be noted that I was the only NPB account which had over 26 Feedbacks. He's obviously concentrating on newbies; one even admitted shipping the item before receiving payment.

Yet another way to victimize their patrons which ebay doesn't care about.

Yikes. That could almost work, especially if one let their emotions override reason.

The Internet is not a nice place. Every site you visit where you are OK with receiving emails from them, put that address immediately into Contacts. Delete everything else on sight. The sender will understand if they're legit, and resend something that will make it clear you want to talk to them.

Interesting. I have to test something here; ignore this post otherwise.

OK, time to clear the cache. I wish Chrome didn't have this cache degredation problem, because in every other particular it's the best browser.

Yeah, clearing the Chrome cache worked. Those guys are really creative; they come up with brand-new glitches in almost every release.

I get ebay and Paypal phishing emails all the time. I forward them to: spoof@ebay.com.
