Just posting to let you know I'm looking, hard, at this one. I'll be back in ten minutes or so. There's enough time if you're on top of this thread.

It has increased to $65 how much would you'd spend?

OK.
You'll be hard pressed to beat your Dad's coin with this one. 63 isn't out of the question, but 64 is. I have it at an upper-end 62 which wouldn't shock me at 63. I'm seeing a slider obverse mated to a pretty clearly Mint State reverse, but AU58 is not out of the question and slabbing is then unjustifiable. Except you won't know until after you've spent the money.
Can't trust the color. I hate that blue background, but what I can see of the sliver of true background around the coin is that his White Balance is skewed yellow. That wouldn't be an issue except for the halo of crud around the top of the Phrygian Cap, which scares me a bit that it'd be adjudicated "cleaned."
Golly. In truth, if I have a few bucks to risk, I probably snap this one up, up to about $75 or so. Knowing I'm taking a risk. It's at $65 now, and with this much time left in the auction I'm pretty much certain that there are people ready to go over what I'd pay for the coin. I'd bet that my $75 bid would get outbid by overbids already in the system.
Close, but probably a pass. There will be another.

I moved this to Classic because it's as much about the bidding process as it is about the coin in question. At $75 you're already over retail if it's not Mint State.

Yea looking more closely at it magnified I do see something may be off. I am better off hopefully scoring one that is already certified by ngc or pcgs. Or I may just eventually inherit my dads coins anyway, like his ms63 1881 cc, vf35 1879 cc, and xf40 1878 cc

The current top bidder is a Big Fish. Prudent bid, but you don't get it at that. Don't change the bid.

See what happens the last few seconds of an ebay auction? It went from $76 to $91.09 faster than you could see.

The winning bidder has 11,658 feedbacks and bid on 585 items in the last 30 days. Doesn't sound like a collector does it?
I would not be surprised to see this coin up for auction again in the near future.

In an NNC slab. I snagged the pics for future reference.
