OK so still new to collecting and I've decided to make a simple mercury set. I say simple as in just one mint all years. I will keep one of each year from each mint though.

I need to know mercury basics because I don't want to dump anything that could be worth more than usual just because I have duplicates. I'm missing 16,21,22,28,30,31,32,33, from any mint as in I have none from those dates. Are any of those hard to get ahold of? I'm really surprised out of all the Mercury dimes I have that I don't have any of those dates because I have a rediculous amount of Mercury dimes.

I guess my initial idea was to have one of every date from any mint because that would make me happy but for a true set I guess I'd have to do each mint separately.

There are no 1922, 1932 nor 1933 Mercury dimes, so, you can cross them off your list. The 1921 is the only one on your list that will cost a premium, unless, you want high grades.

that's nice.. Now I feel stupid hahaha. Oh well so the problem will be 1921's from each mint. Well I'd trade some stuff for them at the coin shop but that guy slabs almost everything he sells..

But I'm glad you told me those coins don't exist or I'd be like my brother when I sent him looking for a sky hook when we worked on navy ships xD haha.

So why did the mint not make them for those few years then make them later?

....and the 21s in low grades are relative inexpensive too, so you shouldn't have much of a problem.

I don't need pristine coins as long I can male out every detail still.

There was no demand for dimes, or any other coinage for that matter, due to the depression. Here's more info on this:

Haha sounds like the illusive "Soviet dimes" would work as a fill in for the ones the mint didn't make. Man I'd love to find one of those to see how real it really seems.
