A 1903 IHC came in the mail today and I was surprised to discover that it's a RPD! It looks to be a Snow-7 variety (FS-01-1903-303). Take a look and tell me your thoughts and opinions on grade as well.

I agree. Specifically, it is a 7a with the die crack on the reverse from the lowest leaf on the left to the denticles as a confirming marker. RPD's are very common for the date with 19 known RPD varieties. Nice pick up.

Nice ! Just wanted to brag, but last night I received 4 rolls of pennies and found a 1907 IHC in very good condition. Keep CRH and you never know what you will find. Also, found a 1970-S in awesome condition with a D stamped on right side of S....Wowowwee...out of the 4 rolls, I did not find 1 shield and the youngest one was a 2006. Going back today to get rest of pennies that this old bank in very small town has. Just thinkin...lot if farmers have old money....

Thanks beaglebailey for the additional information! What source do you use for your varieties? I currently just have the cherry picker's guide. I just don't feel like spending $200 bucks on the new Snow book. Thanks again.

Maybe Snow still sells the PDF version for 65 bucks, I haven't checked.

Thanks, I need to look into it. I just seem to always spend all of my extra cash on coins, lol.
Any opinions on the grade? I know what I've graded it as, but would like some outside input as well.
Thanks.

I would go MS62 but I'm not sure about original surfaces. Lots of purples in there. Don't take that as gospel though, just my opinion.

I would highly recommend Snows guides. They are worth every "cent". I've paid for them 50x over with various cherry pics.

Hard to tell from this photo but the surfaces looked cleaned. MS details.

My new lighting setup just arrived today, so I retook photos of this 1903 IHC. I think this very accurately shows how the coin looks compared to my original lighting setup. I had to do post white balance before and now I have it calibrated with my Canon. Let me know if you have any different thoughts on grade and surface. Thanks again. .jpg)
