Good Morning. I'm very new to coin collecting. I regret the late start, tho I am grateful for all its taught me so far. I have this odd penny. I don't know if it was some fool messing around post mint or if it was made this way. It appears that part of the reverse somehow was coined over the obverse. Either way...I like it! 1)"ONE C..." appears just behind his shoulder. 2)Part of the pillars appear near his chest. 3)Some other lettering across bottom of coin. I appreciate any knowledge that any of you can share with me. Have a Great Day! Teena

I hate it when we have to inform someone about this stuff but what has happened is the coin was glued to another cent, when the glue dried an incuses and reversed image was left in the hard glue by the otther cent after it was removed.
Feel free to call me Will.

Don't feel bad Teena, I though I hit the jackpot the other day when I found a US quarter stuck to the magnet on the bank's coin counter. After dreaming of buying an island I descovered I found a common counterfeit worth nothing. Continue the search, the fun & education never ends!

Welcome to Coin Community, FishinTeena. The title of your thread indicates your first numismatic lesson - healthy skepticism - is already learned. You'll be OK.

If nothing else, you made us think and we all learn - that's the point of CCF. SOMEBODY here knows the answer to just about anything numismatic.

Keep asking, start sharing YOUR knowledge and we all gain. The only stupid ? is the one you don't ask!

Welcome Teena. I for one liked your question. I am fairly new here too. Most people that are in this forum are helpful and willing to share the vast knowledge they have of this hobby. Join in on some of the threads and have fun.
