The first Elongated Cents(ECs) were created at the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago. There is also a large number of early examples from the 1904 World's Fair in St Louis.

I especially like the Indian head ones. Yours are really nice though. I imagine they would fetch a pretty penny.

yeah it would have been really cool to have that Indian villages one on an IHC. What's your guess on values?

Not just cents. I have an elongated Barber nickel from the 1892 Exposition. The Fair did not open on time so many of these souvenirs will show 1893. The 1939 New York Fair also had its problems. Many of the buildings were not completed on time. So a second year, more geared to entertainment rather than cultural education, might show 1940 on the elongated coins. As for the coins used, it is possible than an Indian Head cent was stretched in 1939. Shield nickels were stretched at the first Chicago Fair. All part of the wacky world of coin collecting.

My mistake. I have an 1892 dime with the year 1893 showing. Elongated Seated Liberty dimes are easier to find as the Barber had just been issued.
