Dumb question time and hopefully the right forum.
My knowledge of US coins is limited so I am wondering if any of these sets have silver in them ?
I have 1-1968
2-1969
1-1970
1-1971
1-1972
1-1973
1-1976
Is there any value to any of these sets or any single coins in them?
I also tried a magnet on them and none were magnetic.

Thanks for your help.

Well for pennies you could do a search on year and mint mark for the penny. Variety Vista for the others. Wexlers site the double eddie. Other than that Google works great

Does the 1976 se have only 3 coins in it? If it does, the all three of those coins are 40% silver.

The good news is regardless of the 1976 set, you have a few halves which are 40% silver as previously stated. The value on those halves is about $3-$4 each.

The 1970 also has a 40% silver-clad half dollar. If the bicentennial sets are just the three bicentennial coins (25c, 50c and $1), they are 40% silver. Are these proofs sets or mint sets? Al of them have some modest value. The 1973 Mint sets contains "Mint Set Only" Ike dollars (not released in general circulation) and have some limited value as such. Find out if these are proof or mint sets. They will say proof on them if they are.

All of these sets are in a white envelope that says the year and U.C. Three of the sets are still unopened 1969-70-71.
The sets that are open have 2 different pliofilm sheets with 10-13 coins between them. Thanks for the info always helps.

They never sealed the packaging. Either someone did it since the time they got it from the mint or heat and humidity can sometimes do the effect of licking it shut. I would gently opened it up to make sure everything is ok and toned to your liking. It always worried me when they are sealed about either getting slugs or them having aweful environmental damage.

Nice doubled dies on the 71 & 72 Philly ones. A nice RPM on the 1970-S:
Late-60's-Early-70's-Unc-Mint-Sets
The 1970-D halves were only released in mint sets and it is a 40% silver coin as well.
So look very closely at them for varieties.
