I picked up these coins from the LCS. While I am not familiar with foreign coins, the copper was $0.50 each and the others $0.25. At those prices, I decided to take a chance.

Good Deal/Bad Deal?
Anything special about these coins?

Unfortunate that three of the British pennies seem to have solder or something attached to them; I wouldn't have picked those up, for any money. But they are probably from disassembled trench art.

The others all seem fair value, especially given that they're already in 2x2s - which, at the price you're paying, comprises a fair portion of the total price.

The 1856 Italy coin is actually a French coin of Napoleon III.

Personally I don't find any of them to have any great value in particular. In other words - I'd personally pass on buying these (perhaps because I have all of them and in Europe, they're pretty common)

Two and four bits is a fair price for this kind of stuff. If you like them, there is nothing wrong with buying them.

Large Pennies are always popular, I've seen exactly this level of material sell at estate auctions for five dollars each. Don't ask me why, but it happens.

You know, I looked at these pictures for a reasonable amount of time and didn't even notice that.

Thank you everyone for your comments. I'll have to change the description of the 1856 coin. Looks like I got exactly what I paid for - not too shabby. I did not notice the solder on the coins until I got home. I swear this LCS must have some kind of special "hide the defects lighting." :)

All things considered, you did get some nice coins. I suppose you spent less than $10.00, if so that is not bad. The France 1918 5 centimes looks EF, if so it alone is worth a dollar or two. The aluminum coins are nice, if they are EF-45 or better then you did well.
