Not even sure if it IS a 1921. It looks tooled to make it appear as a 1921.

Looks like maybe the template for a more detailed forgery and the guy was like "f-it this will work"?

Do_not_forget that the structure of the metal changes around the area of a punched-in feature. I could almost see the very last stage of date wear being an outline of the original digit, incuse as this appears.

He should have just wrote the date on that one with a felt tip maker. Would have been clearer.
