Would any years of canadian coinage pass so close to american coinage that they would be counted as US in a coinstar or bank counter?

I just been wondering that since I get canadian cents and nickels relatively often in my brinks machine rolled boxes. I get a lot of odd things in the boxes so I know their machines are mostly just sensitive to size with maybe a magnetic test too. I never tried it but would returning those coins to a counter work if they weren't magnetic? Or will only specific years work? I tend to like beavers but sometimes I get sad when I get beaten up canadian cents and have to put them aside.

Only specific years. Some Canadian coins are magnetic, but not all (to my knowledge).

Coins with exact materials should work I think (Bronze and zinc pennies and cupronickel nickels)

Nickels, we had cupro-nickle nickles from 81 to 2001 and then again in 2005 (I think this year?) I have not tried weighing them in comparison to the US nickel, but I know the USA 5 cents is thicker.

I could try next time I go to Walmart in the USA and see if that machine detects them.

The planchet used were very nearly identical to US coins from about the late 60s through early/mid 90s. Extremely sensitive equipment could probably dofferentiate, but most non-magnetic coins that match in size should pass through.

E: The magnetic (100% nickel or steel) coins will be snagged for sure, which rules out all modern dimes and quarters. cupronickel nickels and copper or zinc-core cents should pass through as US coins, provided the machine isn't too sensitive to weight.

The non-magnetic cents (pre 82?) and 82-2001 Nickels will be counted without any problems. I search nickel boxes big time. When I find a Canadian nickel, I put it on magnet, if it sticks, I put aside; if not, I put back in the pile.
