I picked this up for a great price, but I'm having difficulty grading this one. I'm a copper guy more than anything, and I just keep moving around on this coin. I believe we're looking at an old cleaning on this as well. Thanks for any feedback.

That's a very nice pickup. Only a couple distinguishable marks that can be seen with the naked eye. I'd give this one a 64+. Nice coin!

Sail lines are there, globe lines especially pronounced. As jdiablo30 pointed out, only a few marks, but nothing distracting. I would feel comfortable giving it an MS-64.

By the way, the 1892-1893 Columbian half dollar is my favorite U.S. coin. Great example you have there!

I see light signs of wear on the hair and ship sails but they could be indicative of a weak strike as I am unfamiliar with grading this particular coin

The lines on the center sail go away almost instantly.

I think the obverse took a deceptively-hard hit on that band between the nose and farthest point of the hair. Not sure though. Quite sure it's Mint State. They basically couldn't give these away, and darn few of them actually circulated by comparison. Most went into drawers someplace.

Thanks for the feedback guys! It's one of my favorite coins... right now anyways, lol. Yeah, I kept going back and forth on grade because of the marks on the obverse, but there's absolutely no evidence of wear on the reverse. I agree that there was a hard hit on the obverse, and I definitely agree that it has been deceptive for me!

What are your thoughts on original surface?

Surfaces look pretty good in the images. Is the color correct? It does appear it could grade Mint State.

BH1964, the color is correct. I'm not a good judge of silver, but the luster that I would expect is knocked down a bit. While it still has luster, it doesn't seem to match to the same high level that the coin grades. Maybe that's normal with this coin though. Thanks for any additional information.
