I do not collect ROOms so I could be incorrect butcthis looks like Machine Doubling to me. I see thec same doubling on the part of the 9 that is showing on the date.

I thought these were stamped separate from the original minting process. Are they still susceptible to MD?

They are still vulnerable to MD, yes. It looks like MD or a hit to me, but in no possible situation is it an RPM

This is Strike Doubling aka Machine or Mechanical Doubling, Die Bounce, etc.

Yes,steve123. They were hand punched into the die.

Just a note: You can also have MD on a legit RPM.

I save the images for discussion here on the forums. I save the strongest ones in tubes so that if someone had a question, I could pull up the image I need for the discussion. I have several different tubes I add coins for just these purposes. (12 tubes of different items sorted)
