I have 2 1862 Thailand 1/8 Fuang coins that are tin and appear to be degrading or corroding. I do not know much about tin or if there is anything that can be done to help, save, improve, or otherwise conserve these coins. They are not worth a whole lot, but I like them and would like to, if not improve their appearance, at least keep them from getting any worse. Anyone familiar with tin coins?

I like those pieces. Alas, tin is only a semi-metal, & over time it undergoes a crystalline phase transition (which can be accelerated by thermal effects, particularly exposure to subfreezing temperature) & eventually disintegrates. I don't know anything which can be done to conserve them, and I wish I did. Frankly 150 years is old for a piece of tin.

Thank you for the input, I had a feeling there is nothing that can be done.
