http://coins.ha.com/c/lot-image.zx?...&id=12487363I love walkers, have its companion, 1921 D, I bid on it, but someone backed out, leaving me the highest bidder. Of course, the HA people (I can't stop saying anything nice about them [except they are expensive on the buyer's commission]), had already mailed it out to me due to a screw up and even allowed me to look at it in hand before deciding whether to return it. Would you buy it and cross it over? Thanks.

I think that's a decent price, but I wouldn't bother crossing. There doesn't seem much of a PCGS Premium on these. Check prior results at the grade.

I think it's a fair price, but I'm always looking for a bit better price. 2 sold on ebay in the past couple of months for less than 700.

It is probably a bit of effort for them to relist it. I wonder if you could talk them down a few bucks on the price. Just a thought, as them sending it to you was their error.

Not that I wouldn't try it myself, but the idea of playing hardball with Heritage over a single $650 coin sale strikes me as funny.

You may have some misgivings about it's acquisition, but nevertheless a scarce and desirable coin. If it was mine, I wouldn't be re selling it.

You can back out of a high heritage bid?

Are they offering it to you at YOUR high bid or the other guys high bid? If at your bid I would have to say you were willing to pay that when you bid it so why are you asking now? If at the other guys high bid I would counter with your high bid. After all why should you have to pay more than your high bid when the other guy who didn't honor his bid raised it over yours?

With all due respect, if the second place bidder was beaten in an auction, the auction is now over. If any situation now arises, including the seller coming back to any other bidders trying to sell the coin, I think these potential buyers certainly have room to negotiate in good faith imo.

Considering what additional monies it would take to back out on the deal (postage for one) I'd leave the deal lay. That's an extremely tough date/mm. And that said there's always a buyer out there albiet perhaps a little less/more than you've paid: still a buyer! Not so w/ the scores of BU walkers in the common dates and mms that abound everywhere. 'Spose I'd keep it myself.

I think $600 plus 18% is fair but not the best deal IMO.

I bid 600, someone came in and bid 700, must have realized he bid too much, and retracted his bid. I was then offered the coin at my high bid, with the option to return. I am, because there is a 1937 Proof Merc that I have my eye on. Further, this VF 25 isn't as attractive as other vF25 and they come up in this grade in sufficient number (in contrast to the 21-D) that I'll gamble.
Thanks to all who posted!
