http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Canada-Silve...em27fe829190It is advertised as a 1952 ARN silver dollar, the CCCS flip shows it as a 1951 Arnprior, but the actual date on the coin is 1950. Is it rare for a TPG to have incorrect dates on their holders? Do these mistakes then affect their population reports?

Not only that, the trend for a 1950 Arnprior is only about $75.00 Not the $250.00 he states for a 1951.

I informed the seller of the difference in the trend of a 50 & 51 Arnprior. He thanked me and pulled the listing. Nice to know of another honest seller.

It's obviously a listing error as far as the 52. And likely the wrong pic on the 50. The 51 does trend at 250.00 which I'm guessing is what he meant to list. When you're listing a lot of coins through TLister and using templates from previous coins, sometimes the pics get messed up up or one just forgets to change them (guilty).

I don't think the pictures got switched, there was one picture where you could see the 1950 date and then further up you could see the flip saying 1951

Oh I see that on the last picture. Looks like CCCS messed up! Now that doesn't happen too often.

Quote: Looks like CCCS messed up! Now that doesn't happen too often That's what I was wondering. I don't purposely look for TPG mistakes but just in the last week I have come across the CCCS error above as well this ICCS one: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/261302359784...RK:MEBIDX:ITI am wondering if these are rare occurrences or if it is more common than we think for TPG to put the wrong information on their flips. I am guessing this would have a bit of an impact on their population reports.

Not that common and there is actually a collectors market for miss-labelled slabs (NGC/PCGS). Variety attribution errors are more common, especially on foreign coins. But getting the years wrong, not so much.

Unfortunately still looking torgemco. Although now that I have learned that ICCS won't classify a 52' as an Arnprior I am thinking of using a 52 that I got graded and came back as a regular "WL" variety as I posted it on two websites and about 50% said they'd call it an arnprior, and the other 50% were split between WL and SWL. I am thinking that if ICCS doesn't classify a 52 as an ARN then they would at least put it as SWL though. I will keep looking for now.
