I'm new and I was wondering, what does the fs on the tails side of a nickel stand for? it's right next to the capitol. i'd apreciate your help. Thanks!

Those are the initials of Felix Schlag, who designed the coin.

Welcome to the forum!

It stands for Felix Schlag. He was the designer of the Jefferson nickel when it started in 1938. Though the obverse has now changed, his reverse design is still used.

I'm actually happy about this. It'll be so boring just to revert back to the old design for the quarter.
