I'm not sure this is the right forum to ask about these medals (but so far no one has kicked me out yet for asking a dumb question--from a new coin nutt), but are they worth anything? That's the Denver,CO and Philly US mint medals.
Thanks!

Mint medals if I correct are installed in all usa coin mint sets .

My 1990 mint set has one each in there aslong 1.82 worth coins. One medal of each philly and denver. I onley paid 7 bucks per intire mint set.

Dont pay 5 bucks each for them since its an rip off. They cut them out mint sets. If you want one of each go buy an cheap mint set and cut it out yourself and keep the coins in set or install them in books.

I have all the mint medals they are 1 and 5/8 inch in size got them from the mint for I think $3.50 each. I did not get them because of there value but because I liked them. As I always say collect what you enjoy that is what this hobby is all about at least that is the way it seems to me.

It depends on what kind of "mint medal" you are referring to. A one cent sized token was included in some years of mint sets. One side had the mint mark and the other side had the Treasury seal. One from each mint(Philly and Denver) would be included in the mint set. These aren't really worth much at all and can usually be found in coin dealer bargain bins for 10 cents or so.

The US Mint also sells bronze medals in 1 5/16", 1 1/2", and 3" sizes that covers all US Mint and Treasury facilities. Medals from all of the facilities are currently for sale from the US Mint and the two smaller sizes are less that $4 and the 3" size is $38.
