Many of the legends are obvious, IMP, for Imperator. Some however I am curious about. Take the Hadrian 3C I recently acquired. Can someone give me a link that explains what the lettering means? Acronyms like AVG, or others?

IMP CAES TRAIAN HADRIANO OPT AVG GER

So, that means IMPERATOR CAESAR TRAJAN HADRIAN, but what about the OPT, AVG, GER.

PARTHIC DIVI TRAIAN Lambda;VG F P M TR P COS P P

Parthia, Divine, Trajan? How about the rest?

IMP CAES TRAIAN HADRIANO OPT AVG GER DAC, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / PARTHIC DIVI TRAIAN Lambda;VG F P M TR P COS P P around, ADOPTIO
Okay
Imp= Imperator/ military command of legions.
Caes= Caesar/ Imperial title
Traian=Trajan
Hadriano= Hadrian
OPT AVG= The greatest Augustus/Emperor. Title given to Trajan by the Senate
Ger= Germanicus/ Conqueror of the Germans
Dac= Conquerer of the Dacians
Parthic= conqueror of the Parthians
Divi Trajan= Divine Trajan
F= Filius/son
PM= Pontifex Maximus/ head of the Roman religion
TRP= TRIBVNICIA POTESTAS/Has the power of the Tribune of the Plebs
COS= Consul/ in theory the highest civil office in the Empire
PP= Father of the nation
So.
Emperor Caesar Trajan Hadrian, the greatest Augustus, conqueror of the Germans and Dacians, And Parthians, Divine Trajan's son who is the chief priest, Invested with Tribunal power, Consul, father of the nation.
Man, that's a mouthful!
