"These investors are convinced gold will spike to $10,000 an ounce (it's currently around $1,225)
when the U.S. government implodes, said Peter Hug, an executive at metals retailer Kitco"

I remember in the 80s when I was in college collecting Morgans and the silver gurus were saying how silver was going to explode, and it did, 30 YEARS LATER, for a brief moment

How is something going to be worth what a select few is willing or has the ability to pay? Rare or high-end vehicles cost an insane amount of money but there's a small limited amount available and it's a product geared toward people can who afford it. Gold is mined every single day in huge quantities. If the price went to $10000 an ounce, the people who mine/refine it would quickly realize that they need far more money than they're making.

Personally, I don't see why gold is as expensive as it is now and if it means that I won't have any wealth then so be it. There's no way that this stuff is worth the price it is currently at.

There was another thread on this Forum a few months about this topic.

The 25% are still running around buying MREs, more guns and ammo than they will ever need, reading gloom and doom magazines and forking over untold sums of money for gold and silver when the telemarketer calls or when they go to a gun show.

Not much has changed.

That's exactly what it is, a hobby. I like coins, and I like shooting and hunting. My grandparents lived through the Depression. They taught me to hold on to silver and lead whenever I can. I'm not a hoarder, though. I do agree; most gun shows are a joke. I don't know what's more overpriced at one, the ammo or the bullion!

I am very surprised it is only 25 per cent. Seem that is way too low for what we see in our business.
