So I picked this up at an antique store in Colorado springs while I was traveling, Now its outside my realm as ive never purchased confederate bills before and had minimal knowledge, I took the dealer at his word for authenticity ad the signs for an authentic bill were there (not a reproduction serial number, right kind of coloration on the edges and what not) ... I just want to know how much this bill would be worth now? Or if I got a raw deal! can anyone help?

Nice pick up! I really like the confederate bills. I'm no expert by any means but I'd say it's worth around 40 bucks.

I have just took an interest in obsolete confederate currency myself. I purchased a note just like this graded vf25 by PMG for $45. Yours apprears to be around the same condition as mine and considering it is uncertified I would give it a value of $30-$40. These $10 notes are still pretty common considering how old they are.

Just judging by the front I would say this is authentic. I see nothing to suggest otherwise.

Nice pickup. Are you going to send it in for grading?

It is a well-used 30-40.00 note. What benefit is there to paying a fee to a third party to grade it?

^ for me, peace of mind that it isn't going to disintegrate in my possession. I just prefer getting them sealed, and yes I know you can do it yourself but I just prefer having it done professionally. Maybe I'm just paranoid though....

tbolts...I agree with you 100%. It's a peace of mind knowing it is authentic and that it will be safely stored for many years to come. There is probably more fake confederate currency than real confederate currency out there. I like the second opinion.

The fake confederate currency is typically pretty obvious. I would not spend the money to have the note authenticated as it will end up costing you probably more than the value of the note itself.

Thats true jim it may not be worth it now, but personally I like the idea of having something preserved for my children and grandchildren to enjoy someday. I'm not looking to get a quick turnaround on any pieces I collect I want to make my collection family treasures that get passed down :D

Looks genuine and you got a decent buy on it. I started with a $10 and the bug bit me, now I am obsessed with putting together a CSA type set.

A fifty cent mylar holder will serve the same purpose.
