When did "In god we trust" first appear on US currency? The answer is not as easy as you think.

according to treasury.gov IN GOD WE TRUST was first used on paper money in 1957
if you say this is wrong I want to know where you get your info from that proves this is wrong. seeing as how the treasury deals with our paper money I am going to believe them over you.

Wow, tricky. I thought the twist was going to be the definition of US currency - so would a silver certificate count as currency or just a treasury note?
