Hello all!! So this is among a few of the other U.S pieces that I recently aquired. An 1830, "capped bust" half dollar. I believe the coin is small letters/small 0 variety, and I would really love to get a rough grade on the piece. I appreciate all info, comments and especially grades!!

Very nice! I'd say XF-45, possibly cleaned.

Nice looking CBH :) XF-40 details. It is in fact small date, small letters. The edge should be lettered.

The major differentiation with 1830's is the size of the zero in the date; they're referred to as "Small 0's" and "Large 0's." This one is a Small Zero, O-102 specifically, I think. Not the easiest of them to find, but not vanishingly rare. This one was well-struck from relatively fresh dies, and I'm at VF35+ for it. I doubt the surfaces are original but even if not they're back to "acceptability," I think.

I needed that coin to go into my Dansco 7070 album.
Nice coin: EF-40 detail.

Well Macmercury, she's up for sale right now if you're interested in it. I have it running with a pretty fair start IMO. I would love to see a CCF memeber enjoy it!

Just shy of 40. Most certainly cleaned but still attractive.

High VF Details, Love the crisp stars, clasp, and date. Flat spots in hair and wings and branch really take away from the beauty that this coin is. Oh and as mentioned, I would say cleaned as well. Thanks
