It weighs 26.8 grams and looks like it may be overlapped at approximately 6 and 12 o'clock, but I'm not sure. I can't scan the edges. Is it possibly genuine? Report this Post to the Staff

swamperbob Pillar of the Community United States 5362 Posts	Posted 06/18/2015 4:16 pm The coin looks very nice - die designs are correct based on a rather quick review of style. I would suggest that SG is needed as a minimum and that only XRF can make the final call. I have seen modern Numismatic Forgeries that were double struck to cover some of the die problems. A double struck coin always needs extra scrutiny before accepting it as genuine. Report this Post to the Staff

swamperbob Pillar of the Community United States 5362 Posts	Posted 06/18/2015 10:37 pm You are absolutely correct about the TPGs - they do not do Specific Gravity. They also do not even WEIGH the coins. So I would not trust any of them to authenticate this particular coin. You actually need to become an authenticator yourself. That was a primary issue in my book. Until all collectors become authenticators for their own selected series of coins - fraud will abound. Collectors must WEIGH, calculate SG and check visual designs on ALL of their coins. Until that happens forgers will have a wide open field. Report this Post to the Staff
